History of Taj Carnival or Taj Mahotsav in Shilpgram, Agra

Taj Mahotsav was first organised in 1992 in Shilpgram Agra. The festival is organised by Department of Tourism, Government of India. The main objective of organising this Mahotsav is to exhibit the rich heritage and culture of Agra and India and to give opportunity to the artists from different parts of the country to showcase their craft and art work. The Taj carnival also promotes local artisans and their talent so that they can get an opportunity to showcase their work to the people coming from across the world.
